1. Skipton's
Historic `Gateway' Guided Walk.
(For those who prefer more talk to walk!)
Lasting
approximately one and a quarter hours, and non-strenuous, the
guided `Gateway' walk takes you around the very heart of historic
Skipton-In-Craven, beginning outside the Tourist Information Centre
in Coach Street, and wending it's way to the oldest part of Skipton
- the Mill Bridge area - along the way visiting the High Street
and the great Gateway of Skipton Castle; Holy Trinity Church;
Chapel Hill and Mill Bridge before returning to Coach Street via Springs
Canal.
2. The Skipton Millennium
Walk Guided Tour
(For those who prefer more walk to talk!)
Lasting
two to two and a half hours, though non strenuous, the Millennium
Walk begins outsidethe Tourist Information Centre and takes you on
a perambulation of Skipton in general, visiting much of the above,
but also many areas `off the beaten track' such as `Black Walk'
and `The Wilderness', finally returning to the Coach Street via Otley Street
and the `Ginnels'.
All guided walks begin and end outside the Tourist
Information Centre in Coach Street and take place at various times
of day, most days throughout the season.
Costs
Skipton's
historic 'Gateway' guided walk is £3.00 per person (half-price
children up to 14).
The Skipton Milennium Walk guided tour is £5.00
per person (half-price children up to 14).
