About your Chamber of Trade & Commerce

The Skipton Chamber of Trade and Commerce has a long, proud and distinguished pedigree of championing the interests of local businesses.

Established in 1897, and with over 130 members, it is one of the longest-running organisations of its kind in the UK.

Our membership base has always been strong – and is still growing! Keeping that membership base is vital to the success of the Chamber, which is why we encourage all businesses in the town to consider joining the team!

IN SHORT - The stronger and louder the voice, the more powerful the impact.

With your help and support, we remain ready, willing and able to respond to future opportunities and challenges.

We look forward to welcoming you and your business into the Chamber.

Together with a common purpose…

Skipton Chamber of Trade’s growing membership base is broadly spread throughout the local retail, leisure, hospitality and business services sectors.

Meetings, following specific agendas designed to ensure speed of business, are held on a monthly basis and give members the opportunity to discuss and influence decisions affecting the prosperity of the town and surrounding area.

The Chamber’s Executive Committee comprises the officers and a minimum of six ordinary members who are elected/re-elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee, together with the Secretary, oversee the general management of the Chamber on behalf of the membership.
